Shows, Blog Hops and Swaps!

Oh my!!

Tomorrow will be my last show of the year!!  You will find me in Crete, Nebraska at Doane College.  9-3 Saturday.  60 vendors with handmade goodies!  Come shop and keep those of us with small businesses in business!

Also.....Lorelei is once again having her 12 Days of Christmas Swap this year!  I get to play :)  My packages are all ready to go put tomorrow.  Hope everyone likes what I made :)  You can click the link over there on the right of your screen to find out more.  We'll start opening packages on the 25th, so come on back and see what everyone sent!

And....Lori Anderson is having a Blog Hop that I am participating in....there is also a link on the right for more info on that.  That is on January 11th.  Haven't decided what I am making yet, but I'm sure I'll think of something :)

No pictures for you yet.  Probably in January I will start showing you some of my new stuff.  I am making so many cool things right now that it's really hard to keep them quiet!

Another Month....

has gone by!  I can hardly believe it!

We have been very busy with our last camping trip of the year:

 And Marley's birthday:

And Halloween:

Lots of family time, and of course, making beads!

I will have lots of new things to show you next year.  I have had my head down, diligently working on new things that I am not quite ready to show you yet :)  It starts with a new booth design, new shows, and lots and lots of new beads!  I have an entire box full of sale beads right now.....an "out-with-the-old-in-with-the-new" sale box.  Would you like to see it?  Do a little sale shopping?  Let me know....I'll see if we can work out a private showing just for you!

Finally!

My weeks are flying by in a flurry of school, work, making beads and shows!  Here's a little smaple of what I made this week:)

"Meadow" earring pairs:

The new color palette, (so far without a name...any ideas?), in spacers:

and disc sets:

earring pairs:

mini sets of three with spacer pairs:

and more disc sets:
I am not quite finished with this color palette.  I think some triangles are in order.  Maybe a necklace.  But that will have to wait until next week, as we are taking Ayden into the wild (about 3 miles from our house) for a camping adventure weekend.  He is super excited to make smores and eat every meal outside:)  Let's hope it isn't too cold!

"Meadow" Bracelet....

 Minus the brown and orange.
Makes it more of a Spring bracelet I think.
Making a few earring pairs today before I switch to the new color palette.

New Color Palette Series

Each week I will pick a color palette to work in......mostly to keep me focused.  I do tend to jump all over the place doing things :)  This week is "Meadow", a lovely collection of teal, green, cream and browns.  I have made these spacers so far:

But rest assured, I'll be doing more things in this color palette!  Loving it :)

I'll keep it going, changing colors as the mood strikes me.  And end it when I am tired of it.  But before that happens, you'll see lots of pretty color combinations coming out of my kiln!

Estate Sale Score!

A lovely map cabinet..in really good condition.  Usually I paint thrifted-estate-sale stuff, but I think I'll live with the wood for now.  And line the drawers with vintage maps. 8 drawers:

The top drawer has hand-made sections in it...perfect for all my little treasures :)
The other 7 drawers are plain....my trays of gemstones fit in perfectly.  I may even put my seed beads in a drawer or two.  Haven't decided.  First, I need to find a place for this monstrosity!  It's 37 inches wide, 36 inches tall and 23 inches deep.  Big-guy-treasure-keeper.  Love.

She's still at it!

A lovely photograph by Kate McKinnon of my necklace:

Have you ordered the book yet?  You really should!

In Fall mode, still...

and making earring pairs for Etsy:

Or you can make a bracelet, using one of the bigger beads and the two spacers in the body of the bracelet,  (off center, of course),  mixing in some silver and seed beads.  Or gemstones.  Use the second focal bead to dangle off the clasp.  Adorable!
By the time Fall actually arrives, I will be in winter mode.  Prepare yourselves :)

New Camper

Well...new to us, anyway!  Ayden is loving going away for little weekends in the camper....
making marshmallows and poking the fire is his favorite, I think.  And playing UNO when it's raining.  He likes that a lot too!

Finally!

I have time to show you my pics from the Jeannette Cook workshop!  This is the bracelet I made in class.  I already have another one finished, and 3 more in the works :)
Parts and pieces for the lariat:
I finished these in class, and am working a bit here and there to finish the rest.  Done?  Not.  Even.  Close.
And the Curl.....very fun to make.  And easy once you get the trick.  This one is almost ready for it's necklace piece.  And i have another one going.
I'll post more pics when they are closer to being complete.
For now, I am recovering from last weekend's show, and gearing up for the next.  Which will be August 18th....trunk show at Beads and Boutique.  Formally known as Aquarius Beads.  Come see me?!?
