New lampwork beads! Yesterday was apparently (once again) stripey-bead day since that's all I made! I'm going to try to make beads today that have no stripes. No promises, however! Anyway--enjoy my recent creations!

"Mermaid's Treasure"

While I am waiting for my kiln to be cool enough to open I made this bracelet. It's loaded with lampwork beads, pearls, shells & seed beads. Guess what? The bracelet is done but the kiln is still too hot!! I'm being very impatient today since I have a lot of cool beads in there--my muse was very kind to me. Bead pictures tomorrow!!

New lampwork beads again today!

These have a nice spiral pressed into the glass to give texture.
These have really cool stripey organic shape that I love! I kept a few out to make a bracelet--I'll post a pic in the next few days when I have it finished!

Today is my daughter's birhtday! Happy Birthday, Jennifer! She's 21 today, and I know what you're thinking--how can I possibly be old enough to have a 21 year old child? I was a baby myself when I had her, I tell ya! Anyway--her's one of the many beads she's getting today. This one is my favorite, a nice warty, bumpy, dotty bead with great colors! Hope she likes it too!

New mixed-media pieces--these cute little containers will display earrings in coordinating colors. The short one reads "Sugar and Spice" on the outside and "Everything Nice" inside. The taller one reads "Keeper of all Things Small". Look for beads later today or maybe tomorrow!!

Well, I just received the most beautiful bead from Toni of WildWoods Art Glass! The colors and depth are amazing, not to mention the perfect barrel shape! The picture does not do this one justice! Thank you, Toni! Check out her website at:

Jewels, my online blogger friend sent me the most amazing bracelet!! The bracelet is one of her Lentil Twist line in a lovely amethyst purple. I love it! I got it yesterday when I was having kind of a crappy day (let's not go there) and it sure did cheer up right up! I've been wearing it even since! And earrings too! Lovely pearl earrings with an adorable heart chain--the picture on her blog is much better--so I'll leave you with her link. Enjoy looking at all her lovely creations!!

As promised--beads from the kiln--cat approved, of course!

Monday, January 15, 2007

Stupid cat! Yes--this is my daughter's cat looking for a cuddly place to lay down. In the kiln. On top of my beads. Pics of the beads tomorrow!
Lots of beads were made this weekend--here a few of my favorites!
These remind me of snakeskin, and are a nice tiny size perfect for bracelets! The entire strand of 16 beads is just 5.5" long.

I just love the colors in these! Another strand of tiny beads--12 beads measure 4".
This is an oddlot color from Bullseye--that means when it's gone, it's gone! Superman with Raku frit. Very nice color combo!
And last--an organic set. A nice set for a necklace and the big rounds are hollow. Yummy!

Well that's it for today--enjoy the eye-candy! I'm off to the torch!

New series of beads I'm calling "Colorbox". Each set comes with 12 bracelet-sized beads.
Here's a bracelet I made with one of the sets, plus one extra bead--had to have a dangle, you know!

Thursday, January 11, 2007

Well, the kiln is full of a new series of beads (hope they turn out well!) and I'm a little further on my neckpiece. Now it's going to have to sit until it tells me how it wants to be finished off. I'm thinking more freeform peyote to finish the length and a nice sterling adjustable s-hook clasp. The question is--do I want to fringe around the outside? Or maybe more freeform around the coins? Decisions, decisions! It will come to me soon--probably in my sleep.

Wednesday, January 10, 2007

Another work-in-progress. Jasper coins encased with seed beads. I'm attaching them with a bridge of freeform peyote embellished with pearls & firepolished beads. Three down, four more to go!
