I've been a bracelet-making fool today. Here's a couple of my favorites!

Monday, October 30, 2006

New necklace with a lampwork pendant & loads of pearls.

Big big-hole beads. Focals with a 1/4 inch hole for multi-strand necklaces or sliders on chains.

Awesome animal print beads--the best I've made so far, I think! I love all the little bubbles--some lampworkers think of bubbles as flaws. I like to think of them as wonderful texture, air from my studio, maybe a little of my breath trapped for eternity in glass.

Today's bracelet is a new design for me--freeform peyote mixed with stringing. Matching earrings, too. You like?
Well, I made it back home! Marshalltown was great, as usual! Lots of super-nice people searching for the perfect beads. I had two in my class, so it was a nice intimate setting to learn fringing. Jeanne shared lots of her own work, including this awesome pattern from an out-of-print Diane Fitzgerald book on Zulu stiches. Also, a freeform bracelet/earring set that I also made yesterday.

Lampwork Bead Fringe Bracelet

Wanna learn how I make my fringe bracelets? Now's your chance! I'm teaching it in Marshalltown, IA this Saturday--October 21. Cost is $45.00 and includes all supplies! Hope to see you there!

Well--this is my 100th post! Talkative, aren't I? Anyway--lampwork beads to show you today! I made these last night and they're all about Fall. This weekend you can see my jewelry at Artitudes in Lincoln and my beads at the Marshalltown Bead Blast in Iowa. Come see me, won't you?

Okay--the butterfly is finished!! Now on to making some lampwork beads!

Wednesday, October 11, 2006

An update on the butterfly!

A work in progress......

This is going to be part of a wall hanging/quilt for a friend that is undergoing treatment for breast cancer. After I get this one done & delivered, I'll be starting on one for the Alaska Bead Society that will be donated to Bead Artists Against Breast Cancer for their annual auction.

More lampwork beads, of course! Tonight & tomorrow I need to work on a couple of projects for other people so maybe you'll get to see something different soon!

Today while I was all upset about something trivial I made some "worry beads" in ivory & topaz. I don't know if you can tell from the pic, but they're very organic in shape with lovely curves & bumps. Also--more in my color-wheel series--same Tetrad color scheme, different shape.

Saturday, October 07, 2006

More beads in the same series as yesterday--different colors! Tetrad color schemes.

Since I didn't get to the torch at all yesterday, I decided to make yet another freeform bracelet. This one is an analogous (big words courtesy of the Margie Deeb workshop!) color scheme of red, magenta & violet. Enjoy!

Well, I finally have some beads ready for you to see! Also, my jeans that I've been beading are almost finished!!
